Microchipping
Many of us as pet parents have had the sad experience of losing a pet. In the past, the best we could do was to post signs in the area and ask our neighbors to keep an eye out for our lost pet. Fortunately we now have a form of permanent identification know as a microchip. A microchip is the size of a grain of rice and is inserted nearly painlessly under the skin of your pet. If your pet has a microchip it will contain not only your information but also Phenix Animal Hospital’s information. Most animal shelters and veterinary clinics have microchip readers which enable them to scan a lost pet to help reunite them with their owner. Phenix Animal Hospital offers this service to our clients, and recommends that all pets are microchipped in the event that they wander away from home.
